MARINER’S WHARF 

Mariners Wharf is Africa’s first harbourfront emporium and a great seafood experience. Dine upstairs in the famous Wharfside Grill or in one of its private cabin, and downstairs at the Wharfette Bistro which has an al fresco menu and produces takeaways.

Dine at the Wharfside Grill, tasty takeaways from the Wharfette Bistro, fresh fish at our historic Fishmarket (built around the hull of the 1940s Kingfisher), or, for a different shopping experience visit the Pearl Factory & Mariner’s Chest (for seashells and souvenirs), purveyors of beautiful jewellery and giftware – plus Ye Olde Shipwreck Antique Shoppe adjacent thereto.

Did you know that Mariner’s also has its own craft beer, Olde Seadog, which is available with your meal at the Wharfside Grill or Wharfette Bistro, as well as takeaway in the Liquor Cove (the first bottle store in South Africa to be licensed for 7-day trading) which is adjacent to the Wharfette.

Conceptualised and founded during the 1980s by Hout Bay’s own Stanley Dorman, Mariner’s Wharf has continued to grow under his and his family’s watchful eyes.

Well worth a visit, indeed!

THE WHARFSIDE GRILL RESTAURANT

Since its opening at Mariner’s Wharf during the 1980s and boasting an enviable position on the verge of the sea and Hout Bay beach, its success continues, attracting visitors from near and far, delighting patrons not only with its great seafood, but also its displays of nautical artifacts, décor and ambience.

It is also renowned for spectacular views, superb seafood choices, the iconic Crayclub Bar, private cabins (themed to seafaring history and famous ships) plus a vast upstairs deck.

Do stop by for a relaxed breakfast, leisurely lunch, or when the lights around the beautiful bay twinkle in the distance, a memorable dinner.  Free parking and wheelchair friendly are other attributes.
